Match report
TEHRAN, Iran took a 2-0 victory against Syria on Wednesday to advance to the final of the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) Championship in Tehran s Takhti Stadium.

Ali Daei s side went ahead in the 6th minute when Kianoush Rahmati scored from the penalty spot.

Iran put the visitors under pressure in the second half of the game and finally striker Gholamreza Rezaei doubled the score in the 52nd minute.

Two teams have fielded their inexperienced players in the tournament.

Iran will play Jordan or Qatar on Friday.

The team has been crowned three times out of four in the tournament.
